My Biography
My name is Eloise Dale. I am a professional actress based in London, England. I grew up in the town of Colchester, Essex.
Acting has always been a significant aspect of my life. During early childhood, with my innate desire to mimic television characters, relate stories and an aptitude for creativity, the dreaded words: “let’s make a play” came to haunt my young cousins and friends whenever they visited!
During my youth I dedicated as much spare time as I could to local theatre groups, as well as school productions, performing on the stage at every opportunity. Through my commitment to drama groups I experienced what it was to perform in many wonderful theatres, whilst still studying at school, including Sadler’s Wells and The London Palladium.
Then in my late teens I attended East 15 Acting School for one year to undertake the accredited Acting Foundation course, which provided a great basis for further development. With a strong focus on Stanislavski’s ‘Method’ the course really opened my eyes to the depth and detail of ‘Acting’.
I went on to work at one of the country’s most highly regarded repertory theatres, The Mercury Theatre (a theatre that was special to me not only because it was in my home town, but because it was the first stage I performed on, with just a few lines, at the age of 7). I owe much gratitude to the various Directors and staff I met whilst working there, for their encouragement and the opportunities they gave me to become creatively involved in theatre projects, as well as the inspiration I gained from the works of the talented Acting Company.
I had always intended to further my acting training; I’d felt it was an important part of my development to attend a three-year accredited drama school course, so I was delighted to obtain a place on the BA (Hons) Acting course at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.
It was a fantastic course that equipped me with the necessary tools and understanding of how to hone my craft, particularly with regards to physical and vocal technique, the creation and development of character, and how to be responsive, imaginative and flexible in the space. Although the course did use elements of theory taken from influential practitioners such Meisner, it did not seek to mould me with any one system of acting. Instead it gave me the knowledge to have a personal way of thinking, to develop me as an individual performer, giving me confidence and trust in my own ability. The course provided a strong platform to launch my career.
Since graduating from Italia Conti in 2009 I have had roles on television, in short films and played leading characters in several music videos. However, I believe there are many exciting projects out there for me to ‘play a role’ in as of yet and I will always have room for further development and growth as an actress.
Acting is my passion; I am respectful of the craft, and the acting and performance industry as a whole, and will continue to work hard and devote myself to achieving my goals.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read about me.
